Guayaquil and Houston became sister cities in 1987, linking two major port cities with shared commercial interests. The relationship fosters trade, cultural exchange, and educational collaboration.

Paulina Davila

With an Associate Degree in Tourism and Hotel Management, Paulina Davila has proudly called Houston home since 1996. She brings over 20 years of experience in Real Estate and more than 25 years in office management. Married for 30 years to Jorge Gomez and a proud mother of two sons, Sebastián and Santiago, she finds great joy in family, community, and service to others.

Passionate about her Ecuadorian heritage, she actively works to share and promote Ecuadorian culture in Houston, building bridges between communities and celebrating cultural diversity. She currently serves as President of the Houston–Guayaquil Sister City Association and Vice Chairman of the Board for the American Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce in Texas (CCEATEX). 

In recognition of her leadership and dedication, she was named Woman of the Year 2023 by CCEATEX and recognized by The City of Houston for her outstanding community service. In 2022, she was also commended by the Honorable Guayaquil Fire Department with the “Servicios Distinguidos” medal for her distinguished services and generosity to the City of Guayaquil. 

In her free moments, Paulina is also part of the Ecuadorian folkloric dance group “Andina,” where she continues to celebrate and share the rich traditions of Ecuador through music and dance.
