Azam Akhtar

At-large Director

Muhammad Azam Akhtar is a dedicated community leader, civic advocate, and education supporter based in Houston, Texas. He holds a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Karachi and works professionally as an independent Realtor.

He serves as Director-at-Large with Sister Cities of Houston and is the Founding Director and Treasurer of the Houston–Karachi Sister City Association. An active member of Sister Cities since 2009, Mr. Akhtar is also a certified Deputy Voter Registrar in Texas and a Director with the Alliance for Disaster Relief, supporting local and global humanitarian efforts.

As President of the University of Karachi Alumni Houston Association (UKAHA), Mr. Akhtar leads scholarship initiatives for deserving students. He also serves as Director of Emgage Texas, Vice President of the Pakistan American Voters Association, and Joint Secretary and Chairman of the Sports and Youth Committee for the Pakistani American Association of Greater Houston. Through his work, he remains committed to strengthening civic engagement, advancing education, and building bridges between cultures.
